I am an optimist. It is the way that I come to terms with the world around me. I won't stop looking until I can find the bright side of a situation. Otherwise, I'll be honest, things can just be too much for me to handle. I am a worrier by nature and in day to day life I constantly have a million things running through my head at any given time. For me, when things seem out of my control, I take back control by changing the way I see a situation. I will admit, the situation we have at hand currently has really tested my ability to find the bright side. It did take me some time to sort through all of my thoughts and emotions sprinting through my mind. But a few days ago I had some clarity and it gave me a small sense of peace, and by no means am I saying this is a "good thing", but I do thi...
Sometimes you just need a little mental pick me up. College can be really stressful, especially now looking for jobs and trying to plan our futures. When I need a bit of inspiration I always look to quotes. I have a Pinterest board of hundreds, but here are some of my favorites. I hope they might help some of you the way they help me!
During my last semester of college I have been reflecting more on the last four years and what it has taught me about change. When I graduated high school, I did not want to leave. I had so many amazing friends, an incredible boyfriend, bonds with teachers and people in my community; I was just not ready to give it all up. I was happy, and I finally felt settled into life. The last thing I wanted to do was start all the way over. However, all I kept getting told was, "College will be the best four years of your life!" over and over and over. People would tell me about how much I would love college with this glazed look in their eye as if they would do anything to go back to that moment in time. So to say I went into college with high expectations would be a huge understatement.
I strongly believe that your bedroom should be your sanctuary. The one place where you can really relax and feel at peace. You know that feeling when you walk into a hotel room and collapse on that crisp, fluffy, white bed? It smells so nice and feels so nice that you get the best sleep of your life. So why can't you have that experience in your own bedroom? I have been working hard the last few years to try and make my bedroom as zen as possible. You don't have to spend a ton of money to have a 5-star experience in your own room. We sleep every night, so why not make it as enjoyable as possible? So here are a few ways to make your bedroom feel a little more like a hotel spa and a little less chaotic.
1. Invest in your bedding
I think that if you are going to spend excess money an...
In the spirit of sharing more, I figured I would fill y'all in on a few things you may not know about me. This may be more than you ever wanted to know but now you do. Ten things you may not know about me, here we go!
1. I share a birthday with my ultimate hero Walt Disney, this is one of my greatest accomplishments to date and I think about it approximately once a day.
2. I never sleep more than about 6 hours a night. I usually go to bed at 2-3am. Yes I know this is extremely bad but I have been like this since middle school.
3. In first grade I had a huge crush on a boy; now we just celebrated our 7 year anniversary. Apparently 6 year old me knew what was up.
4. There was a period in my life where I thought fashion meant that everything on your body must match. This meant if I w...

College can be very stressful and after a really long day, you want to come home to a relaxing room with a comfy bed where you can just de-stress. Since I've been in college I have found a couple tips that can make a dorm room feel as relaxing as possible.
1) All white bedding
There is something so relaxing about jumping into a big white fluffy bed and you can do that in your dorm room. I like having a white comforter with some cozy blankets and tons of pillows. For added comfort add a thick mattress topper to make your bed feel like a hotel bed.
2) Silk pillow case
I think that every girl should have a silk pillow case. It is great for your skin and even prevents split ends and frizz in your hair. You can pamper yourself while you sleep! PS silk pillow cases are not as...
